teen therapy
Sometimes therapy is necessary to help teens figure out what is getting in the way of feeling their best. For some teens, I recommend family therapy in conjunction with, or in place of individual therapy.

Feeling unheard and misunderstood are common complaints of most teengers. In teen therapy, it is extremely important to me that the teen feels like I am an ally, advocating and offering support. A trusting relationship with their therapist is one of the primary predictors for successful teen therapy.

An important factor that I clarify for both the teen and their families is that whatever the teen shares in therapy is confidential, with the exception of a few things. If something is important and I believe it needs to be communicated to the family, I will help the teens become empowered to communicate directly with their families.
