I am not a passive, detached therapist. In our work together, I’ll help you dig through your layers to cultivate and act upon a healthy sense of self-awareness. We'll work together to help you develop skills for emotional self-regulation. We’ll walk through your story, rewriting and reimagining what your life has the potential to be.
I value the importance of a strong therapist-client alliance. Research shows that this relationship is as important as the treatment itself. Your time with me is a safe, judgment free zone. I nurture, and challenge, in compassion and empathy to help you achieve your goals. You will be met with encouragement and support every step of the way.
I utilize an eclectic mix of therapies/theories in treatment. These include, but are not limited to: narrative therapy, IFS (internal family systems), self-compassion and mindfulness focused, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and attachment theory.
I am a Kansas City transplant and have been living in the metro area for a few years now. Originally, I am from the beautiful high desert of Utah where we have the best snow on earth and best blistering summers. As much as I miss the mountains, I am absolutely loving the Midwest. Kansas has my heart, for sure!
When I am not practicing therapy I am probably rereading Harry Potter or The Hunger Games for the umpteenth time, while taste testing all the special edition Oreos. I dream of traveling to the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. So far, I have Machu Picchu checked off the list! I am always FaceTiming with my huge family and drooling over my cute nephews and niece. I also enjoy quality time with my dreamy husband by sabotaging him during board games and binging the Great British Bake Off on the weekends. We recently added a new member to our family: a totally adorbs Australian Labradoodle named Maddy! First time pet owners, and we are here for it!
