I am not a passive, detached therapist. In our work together, I’ll help you dig through your layers and discover your internal parts to cultivate and act upon a healthy sense of self-awareness. We'll work together to help you develop skills for emotional self-regulation. We’ll walk through your story, rewriting and reimagining what your life has the potential to be.
I value the importance of a strong therapist-client alliance. Research shows that this relationship is as important as the treatment itself. Your time with me is a safe, judgment free zone. I nurture, and challenge, in compassion and empathy to help you achieve your goals. You will be met with encouragement and support every step of the way.
I utilize an eclectic mix of therapies/theories in treatment. These include, but are not limited to: narrative therapy, IFS (internal family systems), self-compassion and mindfulness focused, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and attachment theory. I am trained in EMDR and can utilize this skill in our sessions. Click here to learn more about EMDR.
I am a Kansas City transplant and have been living in the metro area for a few years now. Originally, I am from the beautiful high desert of Utah where we have the best snow on earth and best blistering summers. As much as I miss the mountains, I am absolutely loving the Midwest. Kansas has my heart, for sure!
When I am not practicing therapy I am probably rereading Harry Potter or The Hunger Games for the umpteenth time, while taste testing all the special edition Oreos. I dream of traveling to the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. So far, I have Machu Picchu and the Colosseum checked off the list! I also enjoy quality time with my dreamy husband by sabotaging him during board games and binging the Great British Bake Off on the weekends. Other times, you'll find me at Target or HomeGoods with a cold Dr. Pepper in hand. I have two dopey dogs who make our world so much brighter and full of lots of floofy snuggles. In December of 2023 I became a mom to a baby girl after years of infertility and pregnancy loss; I'm on my own journey of balancing life, a career, and parenthood. We're all in this together!
