my style of work

I am not a passive, detached therapist. In our work together, I’ll help you dig through your layers to cultivate and act upon a healthy sense of self-awareness. We'll work together to help you develop skills for emotional self-regulation. We’ll walk through your story, rewriting and reimagining what your life has the potential to be. We will identify your values and beliefs and create space and boundaries to honor those values and beliefs.

I value the importance of a strong therapist-client alliance. Research shows that this relationship is as important as the treatment itself. I do not see you as a problem; your problems are the problem. Your time with me is a safe, judgment free zone. I nurture, and challenge, in compassion and empathy to help you achieve your goals. You will be met with encouragement and support every step of the way.

I utilize an eclectic mix of therapies/theories in treatment. These include, but are not limited to: narrative therapy, IFS (internal family systems), solution focused, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and attachment theory.

about me

I am a Kansas City transplant and have been living in the metro area for a few years now. Originally I am from the beautiful high desert of Utah where we have the best snow on earth and best blistering summers. As much as I miss the mountains, I am absolutely loving the Midwest. Kansas has my heart for sure.

When I am not practicing therapy I am probably rereading Harry Potter for the umpteenth time while taste testing all the special edition Oreos. I dream of traveling to the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. So far, I have Machu Picchu checked off the list! I am always FaceTiming with my huge family and drooling over the cuteness of my nephew and niece. I also enjoy quality time with my dreamy husband by sabotaging him during board games and binging the Great British Bake Off on the weekends.
